iSync 2.1, Flash Lite and the Nokia 6680

Sync6680

Yay!, At last, there is a new version of iSync that allows syncing between your mac and your Nokia 6680. Version 2.1 was released yesterday or today and adds a number of new devices to the compatibility list…

On a separate note, this handset is awesome for Flash Lite development. My handset has the new version OS on it and runs Flash Lite apps like a dream. Animations and alpha fades don’t stutter at all.

Also, for those of you who asked for my presentation source at the recent Flash Forward NY, you can download a QT movie of it here. If I spoke to you at Flash Forward and you’ve mailed me since then please be assured I shall be in contact over the next few days…

    Nice handset! After your excellent talk at FFNYC I was looking to see what is available in the US and the 6620 in the closest. I am always envious of the UK market for mobiles as there is so much more choice and lower costs.

    I’m still trying to connect my Nokia 6680 to my powerbook G4 to use the internet via Bluetooth on Vodafone.

    I’m using no username, no password, “internet” in the GPRS CID box and the Nokia ir6210-8xxx modem script. Bluetooth TCP/IP is set to Manual and 0.0.0.0. The script reports No dialtone. I’m in the UK and using non 3G connection.

    Any ideas?

    set the connection to NOT wait for dialtone before dialing – i think that’s why it’s saying ‘no dialtone’ George. GPRS doesn’t work over ‘phone’ lines as such.

    Also, try using the Nokia Infrared modem script.

    looking for flash player for 6680 to install. somebody knows the way. i would like to see flash content on the web and on my site…

    shity macromedia . they all just want to suck money from people . ..

    I have a Vodafone branded Nokia 6680 and I’m trying to set it up to work with iSync 2.1 via bluetooth…. The problem is, when I try to open and load the sync agent that my Mac send the phone, I get a message on the phone that says: “Installation Security Error. Unable to install.”

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Installation security error is a common problem due to the default security settings for program installation on the handset. There is an easy fix though.

    Menu – Tools – Manager – Options – Settings – Software installation, change this to ON. The default setting for this is Signed only which is why the security error pops up.

    I got sick of trying to connect my mac but this software works fine, although bluetooth is too slow to be usable, the data cable works fine, still slow tho (i can’t get 3g reception in cumbria)
