Heh, I happened across some pictures from a US soldier in Iraq. This picture of some kids made me laugh… The girl on the right is clearly sending a message that the US isn’t hearing…

Pete, come on, how do you know the girl is giving the dirty finger and not a peace sign? Look at her smile.
don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that the girl is deliberately being rude – you’re right Francis, Eric, the smile is totally genuine… But the hand being the wrong way round signals the total opposite to ‘peace’ here in the UK – it’s my warped sense of humour that finds it funny…
