I’ve had a number of people contact me about iSmartTrain since I blogged about it a few weeks back. For the record, I can confirm that it is a brilliant program and well worth the money to buy. If I have one criticism of it, it’s that it’s not particularly ‘mac-like’ in appearance or execution but, that’s of no relevance really as the app functions and works exactly as you need it to.
It’s the perfect motivational tool for me. I only have to open it up to see last week’s activity totals and it makes me head out into the torrential rain so that I don’t have a downward trend in my charts… Sad, but true…
I was showing the app to someone yesterday and gave them the url to go buy it (yep, they were *that* impressed too) and they noticed that my icon for it is different to the ‘real’ one. I have a tendency to roll my own icons for apps who’s original I’m not fond of (sorry Stuart!) and that’s what I’d done here too… It’s not particularly good or original but it is a bit more mac-like and I like it… Anyway, click the pic to download it if you want to:
Please note: this isn’t an official icon, nor has it been approved by Otag etc. It’s just something I did for myself and have had a couple of enquiries about…

Hi Pete,
I know what you mean about the icon – that’s the problem with not having one artistic gene in my body I’m hoping to get a decent one done for the next release – perhaps something like Delicious Library’s one – http://www.delicious-library.com – but with an HRM instead of the barcode scanner.
Let me know if you’ve got any ideas to make iSMARTtrain more ‘Mac-like’ in the next release – a lot of my programming background is for windows, and I think a bit too much of that shows in iST.
Cheers
Stuart
