I’ve been thinking about getting a new bike for ages. I’ve toyed with Ducati Monsters right through to basic 125cc mopeds and I still can’t make up my mind. On a recent trip to Tokyo my good friend Dominick showed me his electric Yamaha bike:
This thing is way cool. The batteries are swappable at various outlets around Tokyo, so you can pretty much count on being able to find a place to swap your dead battery for a charged one most of the time. All very cool…
And then I saw this:
This is the ECO Yamaha, another electric bike – only this one folds itself up at the touch of a button! This has got to be getting close to the ultimate individual urban transport right? Small eco-footprint and a small physical footprint too. I wish they’d start releasing these over here in Europe though… Apparently, Yamaha is hoping to have this in production by next year.
