Fish Tail Neon has been on Brighton seafront for as long as I can remember. I drove past there this morning after the school run in the foulest of weather and the neon caught my eye. With the light as it was, I thought it would make for a fairly moody shot.
I’m not convinced this works though. Feels a little claustrophobic.
On a separate note, I’m in limbo over the software I’m using. I’ve been using the Adobe Lightroom trial on my pc and only have a few days left. I really like it though. My indecision comes because I already have Aperture on my Mac and I’m not sure doubling up on photography management software is worth the investment. There’s been various discussions over on some of my Flickr groups about which one is best and Lightroom seems to win out most of the time… :/
And then of course, there’s Phase One’s Capture One 4 to consider too…
Ack.
I should start tagging this as “YAP” (yet another photo) I guess. Sorry, this is where I’m kind of at right now.
This sign hangs in my kitchen, on the pot rack.
“Life is too short to drink cheap wine”
I’m sure that this is supposed to be a metaphor to say don’t accept anything less than what you truly value or feel you deserve, but I prefer to take it literally and use it to justify every single bottle of Mâcon Villages I share with my partner in crime – yes, you Nete…
Josh and the UK DPE folks organized a Silverlight night in Brighton last night. We actually ran out of room for people to fit in at one point such was the turn out… It’s heartening to see so many people with an interest in the technology because most of the questions were very probing and had an obvious practical slant to them. All in all a great night.
Thanks to Josh and everyone for organising the event and to everyone who turned out too…
A couple of years ago I gave up coffee and tea completely for well over 2/3 years in fact. Then I went to Japan for the first time and I stayed with my friend Joi and his girlfriend Mizuka for a few days. Mizuka was a wonderful host and at one point made us some amazing green tea. I couldn’t be rude and turn it down and from that point have had a real passion for good tea.
I got this tea from a place in Boston called Teavana (was very happy to see a Teavana store in Seattle too). It’s an aged Pu-erh and one of Nete’s faves.
Took this in our kitchen just now. The lighting is right overhead and was pretty bright which makes Nete’s eyes a little too dark.
Still, I like it. ![]()
Just found out that this is my 1st most interesting photo on Flickr…
(0430 where I am currently, and nursing a battered body clock so decided to post yet another photograph)
