In a similar vein to the Times Square photo from a while back. I thought this photo lent itself to the technique too, albeit a little more subtly.
I was stood on the corner of Dam Square waiting for a friend and tried to have a go at panning with the cyclists shooting past. This was the clearest of about 10 shots…
I got steadier with more practice but my technique isn’t up to it I don’t think. I need a lot more practice to get this right. And, a faster lens wouldn’t hurt either ![]()
I feel battered and bruised. We had an enormous storm over the weekend at home and suffered some structural damage. Maybe because of the weather, maybe not, but I’m not been sleeping well at all either. Terrible dreams and lots of tossing and turning are making going to bed something to avoid for as long as possible.
I’m in Amsterdam for a couple of days this week too, and the flight over this morning was a genuinely harrowing experience in places. And to cap it all (so far), on the way back from dinner tonight we got caught in a huge hail and lightening storm and I’m soaked through with a sore scalp where the hail was coming down at such a rate.
I want this week to get better. I’m not sure I have the stamina left to take a completely shitty week face-on.
I saw this crumbling old wall on the way back to the bus stop today. It really is tucked away and yet still visible from a fairly main route (I can’t say exactly where because I entered it into the Guess Where In Brighton Flickr group!).
The wall is pretty decayed and looks like it’s covered in bullet holes (it isn’t of course, just looks like it). I prefer this to the technicolour masterpieces that have popped up everywhere in Brighton since graffiti became ‘cool’…
