I’m honoured to have been asked to judge the second round for the Flash Film Festival 2008 this year. I finished the other night sat in near darkness at our place in Shinjuku, Tokyo where I’m out on a short break with Pip. The quality was mixed in my view, but the top 3/4′s of each category I was asked to judge were generally of a very high quality which made it a lot of fun to run through each of about 40 sites. Thank goodness for jetlag!

The Flash Film Festival is part of the overall Flash Forward Conference which is taking place later this year in San Francisco on August 20th – 22nd. I’ve spoken at a large proportion of the twice yearly event since it’s inception back in the day and have judged the film festival on a number of occassions. This year, I was proud to be in such company as Ben Fry, Aral Balkan, Lynda Weinman and many others – you can check out the full list here.
